"It might seem presumptuous to draw such parallels," George remarks, "yet I am not the pioneer among Russian artists to find solace in the landscapes of New Mexico; the likes of Nikolai Feshin and Leon Gaspar once found inspiration here. Nicholas Roerich, too, graced these lands for a time. It's not solely Russian artists who've been drawn to New Mexico; recall the works of Georgia O'Keeffe, Gustave Baumann, Ernst and Mary Blumenschein, and others. Its beauty is boundless, bathed in light, boasting a diverse tapestry of landscapes: from majestic mountains to lush forests and arid deserts. Seasons unfold gracefully here, from the sweltering embrace of summer to the golden hues of autumn adorning the cottonwoods along the Rio Grande, and even to cacti adorned in snow come winter. The skies here possess a certain magic, with sunsets rivalling those of tropical paradises, casting hues of pink upon Sandia Mountain as it basks in the evening glow. Other local landmarks, such as the iconic Pedernal, Cabezon, Taos Mountains (Sangre de Cristo), Jemez, San Mateo, and Shiprock, stand as testament to the awe-inspiring grandeur of this region. The culture of Native Americans and the remains of their former civilization provide additional inspiration."

When you mention being a non-professional artist, what exactly do you imply by that? - "It signifies that painting isn't my primary livelihood. While I do sell my artwork, it isn't my main source of income. This grants me the freedom to explore my artistic pursuits according to my own interests and inclinations. While some may view traditional landscapes as antiquated, they remain a compelling subject matter for me."
"I embarked on my own artistic journey by emulating the techniques of esteemed masters such as Bruegel, Vermeer, Canaletto, Gaugin, Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Dali Sargeant and Levitan. Among my favorite artists are Serebryakova, Gorbatov, Vinogradov, Zhukovsky, Saryan, Stozharov."
